On February 12, 2017, the STC community celebrated the gift of families as the basic foundation of society during the annual Family Day with the theme, “The Family: Bearer of God’s Mercy”. Families from all grade levels gathered together to enjoy a fun-filled day of activities as they bonded with one another.

The day started with a Eucharistic Celebration presided by Fr. Jonathan Ruben who emphasized during his homily that the family should always be the number one priority. It was followed by the Opening Ceremony wherein the Parents Council President, Mr. Francisco Garcia gave his opening remarks while Mr. George Lua shared about his own family as witnesses of God’s mercy. After which, the Nursery and Kindergarten students sang “Blest are the Merciful.”

The different families proceeded to their respective classrooms for their lunch together. In the afternoon, the sunken court was filled with tension, excitement, and cheers as the anxious participants could not wait to scream “bingo!” Mr. Virgilio Aseniero, one of the winners, was able to bag the five thousand Bingo grand prize in the blackout round while Athena Opsima from 10D won a Sharp TV. The day ended with so much success that one can truly say that families in today’s world are indeed God’s prime bearers of mercy through appreciating the gift of life and love.
